The qualification comes after pro-Trump riotersinvadedthe US Capitol halting, for several hours, the joint session of Congress.
Proceedings resumed later on with Vice President Mike Pence, bringing the Senate session back into order.
The violent protest also saw the outgoing US First Lady Melania Trump’s chief of staff,Stephanie Grishamresign.
