Ngobese was born in Katlehong, Gauteng, and he started his soccer career in the early 2000s.

From 2004 to 2008, Ngobese was part of the Kaizer Chiefs' development team.

Khanye called Ngobese an “arrogant” but “confident” player who was loved by many people.

He added that Ngobese was liked by many people, not only Amakhosi fans.
