South Deep Gold Mine
South Deep GoldMine is thesecond largestGold mine in the world.
This mine is located in Witwatersrand Basin 45 kilometers south west of Johannesburg.
Mining at South Deep started in 1961 with the mine known as Western Areas Gold Mine back then.

Mponeng is the tenth-largest Gold mine in the world, and it is found in Carletonville.

Savuka Gold Mine is thethird deepestmine in the world, reaching depths of close to 4km.
