This comes after former North West premier Supra Mahumapelo challenged the disbanding in court.

The committee was meant to find a new ANC candidate for premier.

The ANC’s NEC made the move after allegations surfaced that the PEC was plagued by factionalism and infighting.

Mahumapelo, however, accused the NEC of acting unilaterally and defying the ANC’s consitution.

He says that the NEC disbanded the committee without even consulting the party’s provincial branches, according toNews24.

Despite the legal victory, Mahumapelo said he was not happy.

He claimed that the NEC’s conduct was disappointing and that it did not take its work seriously.

He added that it did not provide explanations for its behavior,Briefly.co.zagathered.

Additionally, the party reemphasized its commitment to promoting unity in the North West province.
